‘As a Christian, I couldn’t ignore what my bank was investing in’
Concerned about where her savings were being invested, Carmen wanted her money to reflect her Christian values. Her search led her to Kingdom Bank – a Christian bank offering transparency and a clear sense of purpose.
My name’s Carmen, I’m a Christian, and I’m passionate about serving at my church, and with the prison ministry I’m involved with.
Concerned about unethical investment
I regularly say to my friends:
“if you knew what regular banks are investing your money in, you wouldn’t want to save with them.”
This realisation drove me to start researching ethical banks. I knew I didn’t want to align my savings with banks who were investing in things that exploit others; this felt important to me as a Christian. I wanted to steward my money in a way that reflects my faith, so I knew I needed to find a new bank.
As I looked for alternatives, I came across a variety of different ‘ethical banks’, who were clear about their investment policies. But then I found Kingdom Bank.
An explicitly Christian bank
It was amazing to see a bank that’s explicitly Christian, and this felt like the right fit for me and my savings. There didn’t seem to be other banks out there doing the same work as Kingdom Bank, which convinced me to open an account.
I want my savings to be put to work for the Lord, to be used in a way that’s helpful, not just sat there doing nothing, or worse being invested in things I disagree with. For me, partnering with Kingdom Bank was a no-brainer.
A much-needed service
Compared with standard banks, my experience with Kingdom Bank has been so refreshing. The Christian staff have been genuinely friendly, and it makes such a difference when you’re speaking to people who share your values.
‘I’m really happy that we have a Christian banking option’
I would encourage other Christians to consider opening an account. This is an easy way to reflect your Christian beliefs in the way that you save, and the customer service is excellent. I’m really happy that we have a Christian banking option, and I pray that more Christians will become aware of this much-needed service.
