Spotting scams
Stop and consider
Do not give anyone your personal details (e.g. your name, bank details, email address or phone number) even if they claim to be from a business or organisation you trust.
Consider whether this is information your bank would usually request and look at the transaction they wish for you to complete. Even if an email looks genuine, banks won’t ask you to click on a link and confirm your personal details.
Kingdom Bank does not conduct business outside of the UK. Any email received which indicates a non-UK payment or receipt operation should be treated as suspicious and not having come from Kingdom Bank.
Look for warning signs
If you receive an email that you believe might be fraudulent, you should not click on any links, provide any personal information, or use the contact details provided on the email. This also applies to unexpected texts or messages.
Any email that has an email address that appears to be correctly from Kingdom Bank but is entirely unexpected and/or this email requests personal or banking information should also be treated as suspicious and as not coming from Kingdom Bank.
In these cases, you should not respond or reply to the email.
Be cautious
If you’ve already responded to a scam, end all further communication immediately.
Call your bank and cancel any recurring payments that relate to a scam.
Be aware of any further fraudulent communications using information that you may have already provided.
