Turning business profits into Kingdom impact

‘When a family member made me aware of the work of Kingdom Bank, I could see that opening a business savings account would be a natural fit.’

As a Christian business owner, Phil couldn’t justify letting company profits sit idle or fund causes misaligned with his faith. Kingdom Bank offered a place where the company’s savings could actively support Christian ministries, not just earn interest.

I’m Phil, I’m an ex-GP, and alongside my wife I run a business specialising in occupational health within the bus industry.

Investing profits to build God’s Kingdom

We made the decision seven years ago that, as a Christian-owned business, we wanted to invest our profits into a charitable foundation which exists to prosper the Lord’s work and build His Kingdom. The foundation has been involved in a setting up a school in Pakistan, training pastors, and providing support to vulnerable people.  We’re passionate about partnering with gospel ministries both in the UK and abroad.

A shared mission

When a family member made me aware of the work of Kingdom Bank, I could see that opening a business savings account would be a natural fit. It felt like an obvious opportunity for stewardship, as the money we save can be put to work for the gospel. Through our work with the foundation, we often speak with ministries needing a building, so it’s great to know that the money saved by the business in our Kingdom Bank account is equipping ministries like them. We want our money to be useful, and this was 100% the driving force behind opening an account.

Putting our savings to work

I investigated different interest rates and felt that, although I could probably earn more interest on our savings elsewhere, on balance it was more important to help Kingdom Bank in the work of providing affordable mortgages to ministry workers. Otherwise, our savings are just sat in an account not doing anything.  I did quite a lot of research to reassure myself that Kingdom Bank was a safe place to look after our money.  I do feel comfortable that they are a secure and trustworthy bank.

A refreshing experience

Saving with Kingdom Bank has been such a dramatically refreshing experience compared to any other bank. Aside from knowing our savings are put to good use, the staff are incredibly friendly and organised, and it’s amazing to be able to speak to a real person.

I’ve been recommending Kingdom Bank to other people because, at its core, it’s an opportunity for believers to put their money somewhere which helps other Christians and ministries. The efficiencies and service are a bonus, but fundamentally, it’s all about what is being done with your money.
