The Tuck Family, Gateshead

As a missionary-funded church worker with an income many banks struggled to understand, Jonny Tuck was amazed to find Kingdom Bank was able to offer his family a mortgage.

Find out more about the blessings this mortgage has brought.

Tell us a bit about how you came to be working for The Gateway Church.

About four years ago, I knew that God was calling me to full-time Christian ministry with the church, but the church wasn’t actually advertising for a position. After some conversations with the pastor and a lot of prayer, my wife and I stepped out in faith and committed to me working for the church, releasing the pastor to be able to do his role better, and living on financial gifts.

As the years have gone on, my role has taken shape to cover the administration and finance management of the church. In addition to the church activities that happen on Sundays, we’re running a clothing bank in the local area and running Christianity Explored, through which we’ve seen several people come to faith.

What was a church of roughly 20 adults when I started my role has now grown to around 40 adults plus children, which is really exciting!

How did you hear about Kingdom Bank?

We were starting to consider applying for a mortgage. A Christian friend who is a financial advisor looked at the specifics of our situation and concluded we had very little chance of securing a mortgage through a mainstream lender.

I thought I would do an internet search for Christian mortgage providers, just to see if such a thing existed, and came across Kingdom Bank. The Bank seemed like a unique opportunity for us, so I got in touch and we were so delighted that you were able to offer us a mortgage to enable us to buy our house!

How have you found working with us?

Throughout the whole process, I have known that Kingdom Bank were looking out for my best interests. For me there has been a solid relationship formed and at the same time, I am greatly encouraged by Kingdom Bank’s professionalism which fills me with confidence in the services they provide. Every step of the way Kingdom Bank have been informative and supportive, diligent and efficient. It has been a pleasure to receive a mortgage from Kingdom Bank.

What has the Kingdom Bank mortgage enabled for you, the church and your family?

Lots now and hopefully more for the future. Me, my wife (who is 7 months pregnant), and my two-year-old daughter have for the first time been able to live somewhere with our own space. My daughter is in her element! This mortgage has opened the door to increased financial independence and given us an asset to benefit from in the future. As the pandemic lifts, this new home has so much potential for reaching people with the gospel. Kingdom Bank has enabled us to purchase something we never thought possible. We now have so much more opportunity to welcome people into our home, for them to see our lives and for us to share Christ with them.

If you’re in Christian ministry and looking for a mortgage, we’d be delighted to see if we can help! Get in touch by completing our mortgage enquiry form to find out if a Kingdom Bank mortgage could be right for you.
