Kingdom Bank Group Insurance

Wigan Deanery applauds £58,000 (48%) insurance premium saving through Kingdom Bank.

In 2019, the Kingdom Bank Insurance team put together a bespoke, comprehensive group insurance plan for Wigan Deanery in the Diocese of Liverpool. In undergoing a restructuring, the Deanery allowed the opportunity for centralised administration, which in turn provided many benefits and efficiencies, including sole control of all insurances, peace of mind knowing all the churches had adequate and bespoke insurance cover, substantial premium savings, and one common renewal date.

Kingdom Bank can approach group insurance
cover in two ways:

Kingdom Bank is an insurance broker working with a panel of faith insurers. We also offer the Kingdom Bank Church Insurance Policy, specially developed with enhanced benefits and underwritten by an experienced major faith insurer.

Using the panel of insurers or the Kingdom Bank Insurance Policy gives us the flexibility to provide you with insurance to suit your needs. We take a practical and sensible approach to issues such as lead theft, whilst offering discounts on insurance premiums for being the sole supplier. The insurer can support us with survey reports including building valuation reports where necessary to ensure cover is accurate and adequate.

“At Church Wigan we have been blessed by the work and service provided by Kingdom Bank who, in 2019 (for 2020), presented us with the prospect of reducing all premiums from our then current providers by around 48% resulting in an overall saving of just under £58,000. This was certainly an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

“From the initial discussions to ongoing support, the communication and dialogue with Kingdom Bank has been excellent and at this point it would be right to single out Barry Walker for his diligence, advice and patience during our contract period. The offer of a three-year term with further potential premium reductions following surveys was beneficial in allowing parish treasurers the opportunity to plan future spend on insurance when preparing budgets.”

“Overall, the Church Wigan experience of using Kingdom Bank has been excellent and particularly a financial success. We also feel that because of the way Church Wigan operates this clearly helps Kingdom Bank to deal efficiently with our own single point of contact rather than each of our 29 churches directly.”
– Neil Cook (Team Leader, Church Wigan.)

How does it work?

The Wigan Deanery group insurance plan began with 29 separate PCCs
The 29 PCCs became seven new PCCs + a Benefice Joint Council
The seven new PCCs took the assets and liabilities of the member churches and registered as charities
The Kingdom Bank Insurance team developed new insurance policies for each new legal entity
Each PCC listed all the member church addresses and their individual property sums, insured under one schedule
Wigan Deanery Trust is a separate legal entity so a separate charity policy was arranged for appropriate covers protecting the Trust's assets and liabilities
Ongoing dialogue about the insurance continues, with face-to-face service for renewal negotiations or any matters requested

We are specialist professionals who spend time with our customers to make sure we understand their activities and context. Our support is ongoing, not just at the new business stage. We will look after you and review your requirements and are here for any questions you may have.
