2022 Impact Report
The impact of
gospel partnership
Our heart is to see the UK filled with healthy, growing, gospel-hearted churches. Through God’s gracious provision and in partnership with our customers, 2022 saw growth across every area of the Bank as, together, we continue to work toward this vision.
During a year that has been challenging for so many, we are deeply grateful
for the Christians and churches around the UK who have chosen to give their money a mission, by investing the resources God has given them for the advance of the gospel.
At Kingdom Bank, we have the wonderful joy of seeing the fruit of this gospel partnership: more churches flourishing, more gospel projects initiated, and more ministries growing. We pray that their stories – some of which you can read about below – are an encouragement to you, too.
As we look to the next year, we are expectant for all that the Lord will do in and through us and our community. Our prayer is that more and more people will recognise the blessing it is to partner in this work, and that together we will see more churches growing, more ministry workers supported, and more gospel projects resourced.
Thank you for your partnership in Christ. Kingdom Bank
“The beating heart of Kingdom Bank is our passion to enable Gospel Partnership between UK churches in our service of Jesus Christ.”

Lending
Helping churches
plant, build and grow.
Kingdom Bank’s lending to churches, charities and ministry workers continued to see real growth in 2022. We were able to approve lending for a range of property projects, totalling over £21 million.
We’ve been able to support a range of projects including churches, manses, ground-up-developments, refurbishments, and repairs, as well as housing for ministry workers.
We also launched our Kingdom Bank student loans programme, which aims to make theological training financially viable for the next generation of church leaders.

Among the churches we’ve supported is Dundonald Church, who, with help from a Kingdom Bank mortgage, were able to develop a purpose-made building for their growing ministry and children’s work.
“We now have a purpose-built facility which will enable us to proclaim Christ to the next generation.”

Savings
Helping Christians give
their money a mission.
We are immensely grateful for the hundreds of Christians and churches across the UK who have chosen to put their money to work for God’s Kingdom by banking with us.
Over 400 new savings accounts were opened in 2022, meaning we will be able to continue supporting many more churches across the UK in their ministry and mission.

Among our savings customers are Knighton Free Church in Leicester, who chose to open a Church & Charity Reserve account with Kingdom Bank. When asked about why the church made the decision to save with us, former pastor Andy Upton said:
“Due to charity regulations, we are required to keep some money to hand, but as we had no plans to use it immediately we wanted the opportunity to help other people and invest the money ethically. Kingdom Bank is a great way to do that.”

Insurance
Helping Churches and
charities protect their
people and property.
Last year, we continued to support churches and charities with expert advice on the insurance cover they need to protect themselves and the people they serve. 97% of our customers renewed with us in 2022.
But we’re more than just insurance brokers: we’re committed to helping churches grow. When churches secure their insurance with Kingdom Bank, they become a partner in a shared mission by investing in Kingdom ministry across the country.

Among those we’ve been able to help are Wigan Deanery in the Diocese of Liverpool. The Kingdom Bank Insurance team put together a bespoke, comprehensive group insurance plan that saved them almost £58,000 on their premium. Neil Cook, Team Leader for Church Wigan, said:
“Overall, the Church Wigan experience of using Kingdom Bank has been excellent and particularly a financial success.”

Team
The people who help
make it happen.
Last year saw growth in our team as we seek to better support our customers and the churches we serve. We welcomed 10 new people to our team, including two non-executive directors.
All the Bank’s senior management and customer-facing teams are Christians, and we’re delighted to be a diverse community of seven nationalities and a range of ethnicities.
“I get excited about speaking to our customers and hearing the stories of what they are doing. Whether they are a personal or organisational customer, it is a joy to be able to hear people excited about being able to partner with Kingdom Bank, as well as finding out more of how they are reaching their communities with the Gospel.”
